RECOVERY* Journey to Tanzania November 21-29, 2023
THE SECRET OF THE GREAT MIGRATION PATTERN
If we make that assumption, the first forms of life would appear around 4:00 AM, plants would emerge at 10:24 PM, dinosaurs would go extinct at 11:41 PM, and human history would begin only at 11:58:43 PM.

Script by Mitchell Moffit and Gregory Brown. Inspired by the book A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson.
THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE EARTH, FROM THE FORMATION OF THE PLANET TO THE PRESENT DAY, CAN BE SQUEEZED INTO JUST 24 HOURS.
Nature doesn’t wait; she creates herself in harmony with laws and patterns that are thousands, sometimes millions of years old. These patterns still work.

We are newcomers here, and if we are ready to turn toward Earth’s knowledge, our possibilities expand, our ideas become viable, enriched with tried and tested solutions. We ourselves become stronger through the recognized connection with the Earth.

Each RECOVERY* journey is built around a natural phenomenon that will upend your consciousness and the course of your thoughts. It happens in accordance with nature’s rhythms; the dates of our trips are predetermined by how nature functions.

We explore each pattern only once! After all, there are an infinite number of them, and we want to uncover as many of these secrets as possible.
RECOVERY TRAVEL MANIFESTO*
IT’S TIME TO REMEMBER WHERE WE ARE AND RECOGNIZE THAT WE ARE PART OF AN INCREDIBLY WISE AND UNIQUE ECOSYSTEM. TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE DON’T KNOW EVERYTHING. IT’S TIME TO TURN TO NATURE FOR KNOWLEDGE, and it's time to listen TO THE EARTH, AND even if we don't make her OUR MAIN TEACHER, THEN AT LEAST ADD HER TO OUR LIST OF COACHES AND ADVISORS.
is the largest movement of animals on land, following a set pattern that has been in place for thousands of years.

Around two million animals move, guided by an ancient instinct. They are not driven by shepherds or predators; they know where and why they are running. They know when and where they need to be for their lives to continue.

This is a truly grand event, allowing us to witness the wisdom of nature, its power, and its commitment to the most important value — LIFE.
PATTERN OF THE GREAT MIGRATION
when herds return from Kenya to the central Serengeti, the Seronera region, before dispersing into their native plains, where the next generation will soon be born.

Tanzania, specifically the southern plains of Serengeti and Ngorongoro, is the birthplace of the Great Migration.
Serengeti, and also visit the Ngorongoro Crater. Afterward, in the peaceful setting of a homey lodge, we will hold a group session reflecting on what we have seen: how the Great Migration changes our perception of ourselves, our projects, the processes within them, and life on Earth as a whole. What ideas are born as we look at it all?
Please look at the full 9-days adventure in the program below.
The Great Migration
WE WILL WITNESS THE MOMENT
WE WILL SPEND 2.5 DAYS IN SERONERA
THIS IS NOT
CLASSIC TOURISM
where the goal is to visit a famous location, check it off your list, and take some memorable photos. This is a process, a readiness to engage with the place and everything it reveals.

It’s about pure perception! There are minimal interpretations or comments—you experience the journey and share your insights with the group in relaxed conversation.
ACCOMMODATION
IN UNIQUE
PLACES
with history, where behind the hospitality business stand people with a unique vision—bold and uncompromising. Staying with them, we are inspired by their approach and learn from the experience they provide.

It’s about a careful attitude towards nature and local culture, with fresh and vibrant food, often grown right there or nearby, it's about attention to detail and style, in the best sense of the word.

THIS IS AN AMBITIOUS EXPERIMENTAL
PROJECT
in the realm of personalized tourism, created not by the rules and frameworks of the industry, but by the call of the soul and a deep awareness of the kind of experience a modern, progressive person truly needs—even if it’s not common or profitable to do so.
WE DO
NOT REPEAT
JOURNEYS
we admire a pattern only once. Future RECOVERY* trips may take place in completely different corners of the world, inspired by entirely different patterns.

This means we don’t have the opportunity to refine or test the program; we create a product that we would buy ourselves without hesitation.
Arrival in Tanzania, followed by a private transfer to a charming lodge that will become our home away from home throughout the journey. We begin and conclude our adventure here at Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge, a place steeped in rich history, nestled within an enchanting forest and by a serene lake that serves as a haven for hundreds of bird species.

The hot water is heated over firewood gathered from the forest, and meals are crafted from vegetables grown in the lodge’s own garden. After settling in, enjoy some relaxation and a tour of the lodge and its picturesque surroundings.

This is the oldest lodge in East Africa, a place where many famous explorers once embarked on their African journeys. Now, it's our turn to follow in their footsteps...
PROGRAM
Day 1
Overnight at Ngare Sero Lodge
A day in Arusha National Park.

This is the smallest national park in Tanzania, but it offers the greatest variety of natural zones. Located at the foot of Mount Meru, just 30 minutes from the lodge, the park features cliffs, waterfalls, swampy plains, a volcanic crater, and dense mountain forest.

Due to its proximity to human settlements, there are unfortunately no predators left in the park, but you can find plenty of giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and over 400 species of birds.

We will embark on a light trek to the crater of Mount Meru through an enchanting moss-covered forest, accompanied by a ranger. After a picnic with a stunning view, we will return to the cars, drive through the park, stop by the waterfalls and buffalo swamp, and then head back to the lodge for dinner.
PROGRAM
Day 2
Overnight at Ngare Sero Lodge
After an early breakfast, we head to Arusha Airport.

We will fly to Seronera, the central part of the Serengeti. The Serengeti Valley is one of the last places where untouched, wild nature still exists in its original form. It’s called the "Endless Plain of Africa" for a reason — this vast territory spans 15,000 square kilometers.

Our safari will begin right from the airstrip as we make our way to the camp. For the next two nights, our home will be Nimali Camp, a place that showcases how stylish and comfortable tented accommodation can be in the heart of Africa’s largest park.
PROGRAM
Overnight at Seronera Nimali Camp
Nimali operates only three camps like this in Tanzania and Kenya, a project born from a deep love and respect for Tanzania's nature. Here, you will experience firsthand what eco-friendly and sustainable business means in the heart of the Serengeti.
An unforgettable evening under the stars awaits us, with conversations around the campfire and the thrilling closeness of wild animals.
Day 3
We’re sure that by this day your appetite for adventure will have grown, and you'll fully understand what is meant by the term "game." That’s why today we’ll embark on an all-day safari, from dawn till dusk.

We’ll take everything we need for a perfect picnic, and by sunset, we’ll return tired but happy, exchanging impressions and insights about the phenomenon known as The Great Migration.
We’ll roam the plains in search of the most captivating scenes featuring a vast array of wildlife.

Be sure to have your binoculars and cameras ready!
PROGRAM
Day 4
Overnight at Seronera Nimali Camp
A morning farewell safari in the Serengeti, which will seamlessly transition into our journey to Asilia Highlands. This place is truly breathtaking with its location and views: we will stay right on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, a small yet unique UNESCO-protected reserve.

The crater, or caldera, was formed by a volcanic eruption around 2 to 3 million years ago. Today, it is the largest, perfectly preserved, and unflooded caldera in the world.
We will spend the evening enjoying the stunning views, relaxing in the spa if we wish, or immersing ourselves in books from the local library.

This is a time for reflection and to fully absorb all that we have experienced in the Serengeti.
PROGRAM
Day 5
Overnight at Asilia Highlands Ngorongoro
An early rise for a safari adventure in the Ngorongoro Crater.
We’ll embark on thrilling drives along the crater’s edge, enjoy lunch by a lake inhabited by hippos, and encounter a wide variety of animals that have lived in the crater for thousands of years. Unable to leave, these animals create a unique concentration of wildlife in a small area.

Afterward, we’ll transfer to Gibbs Farm for a late lunch. This is an authentic farm that has been in existence since the mid-20th century, with historic gardens and buildings rich with stories. We’ll dive into this fascinating history with great interest, as it reflects the creation of a charismatic and flourishing business.

We believe you'll drift into a peaceful sleep in the rustic luxury of this charming place.
PROGRAM
Day 6
Overnight at Gibbs Farm
Have you ever had breakfast on a farm? If not, breakfast at Gibbs Farm is an experience you’ll remember for a lifetime. You can milk a cow, feed the animals, collect freshly laid eggs, and take a stroll through the vegetable garden and coffee plantation.

You’ll feel incredibly connected to the Earth and gain a deeper understanding of who nurtures and cares for us with such dedication.

After some relaxation by the pool, we will head back to Arusha and return to the familiar Ngare Sero.

On the way, we’ll stop by the Cultural Heritage Centre to hunt for African antiques and discover Maasai craftsmanship.
By dinner, we will arrive at the idyllic Ngare Sero Lodge, a perfect retreat to unwind after so many activities, and we’ll stay here for one more full day.
PROGRAM
Day 7
Overnight at Ngare Sero Lodge
We wake up slowly and leisurely. You can choose to take a walk, go boating on the lake, swing on swings, watch birds and colobus monkeys with fascination, play cricket, admire the lodge’s relics, and spend time by the pool. If you wish, for an additional fee, you can indulge in the spa or go for a horseback ride through the surrounding areas: the village, tropical forest, and fields.

We end the day with a farewell dinner and gather around the fire, where the right words of gratitude will naturally come, and the magic of shared silence and appreciation of the moment will unfold.
